Online Courses
I have designed several online courses. Please see the excerpts below and the description of how the ADDIE model was used.
This Key Performance Indicator chart outlines the process for completing the online course
Tobacco Treatment Medications: Myths vs Facts
When applying for re-accreditation, the Training and Education program I worked for agreed to offer learners several online courses. Our team used the ADDIE model to create the course highlighted below, completing the following phases.
Analysis
The Training and Education team determined that a knowledge gap exists among health professionals (our audience) regarding the proper use of tobacco treatment medications, due to ongoing myths about the products. One of our first 30-minute asynchronous courses was intended to address this issue.
We sought the following behavioral outcome: Health professionals will demonstrate knowledge of latest facts about tobacco treatment medications as they work with their patients and clients.
Design
I took the lead on this project, choosing a course authoring platform called EasyGenerator. I created a storyboard that referenced the appropriate competency model, connecting content areas with interactivities (such as case studies, choose best response, and linked research articles). I also embedded different types of quizzes after each section in order to measure learner performance.
Development
During this phase we worked as a team to research various content areas. We also made use of a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) at our organization’s Gemba board (see above).
I developed the content within EasyGenerator according to the storyboard and contributions from the team.

Implementation
We delivered the course to a pilot group, addressing small technical problems that came up. We also worked on a promotion plan that we would put in place once the pilot group had returned their results.
Evaluation
The pilot participants completed an evaluation. According to their comments, we made adjustments to the course and fixed some more bugs. We then began to actively promote the course to our main audience.
Testimonials from the pilot group:
"The language was very clear and easy to retain"
"The material is very complementary to other Tobacco Training materials; it expanded and clarified significant information and helped with ways to convey that
information to clients"
"I strongly appreciated having access to (the optional research articles)"
"Most of my colleagues still believe most of the myths"
"Can't wait to share it!"
Increasing Quit Success Using Tobacco Treatment Medications
Our team used a similar process to the one above to create this 30-minute course, which featured three video chapters with quizzes after each.
I wrote the script for the videos and worked with instructional designers to ensure the final products were effective and accurate.
I also designed the structure of the course and created it within the platform, EasyGenerator.

Behavioral Strategies to Manage Bad Habits at Work
I undertook this project in order to learn Adobe Captivate. The course is meant to be useful to any organization that is supporting staff to develop effective work habits. I used my expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts to create the storyboard.
I’ve included a few slides to illustrate the course’s main ideas.
